What this is for
You can add CredPass to your computer's desktop or your phone's home screen so it opens like an app - full screen, a single tap away, with no browser bar in the way. It is the same CredPass you use to run your centre; there is nothing to download from an app store, and it keeps itself up to date.
Computer
- Open CredPass in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- Look for the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar - a small screen with a downward arrow.
- Click it, then click Install. You can also find this under the browser’s ⋮ menu.
- CredPass opens in its own window and adds a shortcut to your desktop or dock.
iPhone & iPad
- Open CredPass in Safari - on iPhone and iPad this only works in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow) at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add in the top corner. The CredPass icon now sits on your home screen.
Android
- Open CredPass in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner.
- Tap Add to Home screen (some phones show Install app).
- Confirm with Add or Install. The icon appears with your other apps.
Good to know
There is no app-store download - the shortcut simply opens the same CredPass you use in the browser.
You stay signed in, so your centre's compliance is one tap away.
Updates happen on their own; you never have to update the app by hand.
Each person at your centre installs it on their own device - installing does not change anything for anyone else.
Questions
Do I need to install anything from the App Store or Google Play?
No. CredPass is a web app - adding it to your desktop or home screen just creates a shortcut that opens it full screen. Nothing is downloaded from a store.
I can't find 'Add to Home Screen' on my iPhone.
Make sure you opened CredPass in Safari, not Chrome or another browser. On iPhone and iPad the option only appears in Safari.
Does installing it move any of my centre data onto the device?
No. The shortcut just opens CredPass full screen; your data stays where it always is and loads over the internet, the same as in the browser.
